In our practice, architects and landscape architects collaborate closely on a wide range of projects–everything from the Nathan Phillips Square Revitalization at Toronto City Hall to multi-unit residential, new single-family homes, and residential renovations. If there’s one idea we’d like to share with the RS Homes community, it’s this: how your home connects to the world outside has a lot to do with how much you’ll enjoy your living environment.

At Powell & Bonnell, when a client approaches us to help with the interior design of their new home the services they are getting go well beyond the decorating aspect of the finished product. There are many aspects to the proper interior design of a project and most clients might not consider how these tasks are accomplished and how the potential pitfalls are avoided.

​The most common and often first question we get as a builder with over 35 years of experience is how much it costs to build a custom home. The cost to build a custom home is often expressed as “price per square foot.”  And the range to build can be from $250 to $500 or more a square foot. But what does that mean? The difference is the quality of the build and the finishing’s that go into a home. If you want quality, then expect to pay more. And yes, when you walk into a well-built home you can tell the difference.

Ariel Muller is an award-winning interior designer who worked with RS Homes on our 4-bedroom, 6-bathroom, 7,300 square foot Awesome project, completed in 2018.
